photo of children clearing wastelandWorking in partnership with a range of agencies including New Chiltons Residents Group, BOW Community Projects, Tees Valley Wildlife Trust and Johnson Matthey, we have developed an action plan for the area and given priority to developing a piece of wasteland into a woodland nature trail, with children's play area.

We have held a number of community clear up days and educational events, participants received certificates.

Chinese Community Centre

Working with the Chinese community to develop a 'mini Chinatown ', comprising of three elements residential, community centre, and commercial.

We have supported the group to access external funding and committee skills training. This project was shortlisted for the iNBiz Excellence Awards in 2004.

The Lodge, Old Convent Gardens , Middlesbrough

Photo of opening of community houseIn partnership with residents and following extensive consultation we have built a 'community house' and worked with a core group of residents who have formed a management committee. We continue to support the committee to develop a range of activities.

Working with Young People

One of our staff, DJ Rice, has worked with young people to demonstrate DJ skills.

Corporate Change Programme

To create a learning organisation which encourages the empowerment of staff, members, residents and partners to develop new ideas and innovative ways of working to deliver community investment goals. We were awarded the UK Housing Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Housing 2003 for this programme.
