Maintenance - Insurance
Tees Valley are responsible for building insurance to all its rented stock and shared ownership, right to buys and leasehold properties.
Rented Properties
A claim can be anything from storm damage to accidental damage and break ins. If a claim is required on a rented property the tenant should contact customer services and arrange for the works to be done by a contractor. Certain incidents involving criminal activities require to be reported to the police to obtain a crime number. Once the invoice for the works has been received a claim is then made to Zurich Municipal.
Shared Ownership Insurance - Buildings Insurance Claims Procedure
This Insurance Procedure has been compiled to provide assistance for Leaseholders when submitting a claim under your Buildings Insurance Policy.
Notification of Claims
Please note that all claims must be reported within 30 days of the incident.
The prompt and efficient notification of claims or possible claims is essential to ensure rapid settlement. Moreover, it is a condition of most policies that claims should be notified as soon as practicable, because there can be circumstances in which delay in notification increases the potential cost to which insurers are exposed.
If you wish to make a claim under the buildings insurance policy the following procedure should be adopted:-
