Vital Role up for Grabs
A TEES Valley Housing tenant board member has encouraged others to take on the role after retiring from a successful decade on the Board.
Fred Dowson is urging other tenants to fill his shoes after he helped steer the company, which owns 4,500 homes, for ten years.
Tees Valley Housing is actively looking to recruit to the role, which gives tenants the chance to give their time to shape the future of the organisation, making a difference to themselves and wider communities.
The voluntary position means a committed tenant can bring forward the valuable skills and knowledge they have as a tenant to the Board and make a real difference.
Fred said: "At first, joining the Board may seem daunting but there is plenty of training and support. The role ensures that a tenant's view is given on decisions being made.
"It's very fulfilling and an enjoyable role and I've gained a lot of knowledge, not only about Tees Valley Housing, but also about the housing sector as a whole. It is a great opportunity for any interested tenants."
