Temporary Accommodation Project for Families
The
project in East Middlesbrough is
part of Tees Valley Housing’s commitment
to meeting the temporary accommodation and housing
needs of homeless families.
The project was opened in May 1994 and aims to provide a safe and secure temporary home for families going through the trauma and upset of homelessness.
In total there are 14 self-contained flats (12 two bed and two three bed) in the project. Each flat is fully furnished and equipped ready for immediate use.
In addition, there is a communal lounge for group activities such as homework club, coffee mornings, peer support groups and special celebrations. There is also a communal kitchen, disabled toilet, residents’ computer room, communal laundry and extensive outside play area.
The project is managed by a staff team giving 24-hour cover, to ensure a safe and secure living environment. The staff provide a comprehensive housing support and management service and are available to offer advice and guidance on any queries or uncertainties that families may have in relation to their tenancies at the project and their move on arrangements. There is also an enhanced programme of support available to assist families whose needs are more complex.
