Floating Support
Floating
Support is a joint initiative between Tees Valley
Housing and local authorities, to provide tenancy
support, life skills and training to vulnerable
people. The scheme started in 1997 and accommodates
service users in their own home.
The principle of Floating Support is that the support is provided to the vulnerable person or young parent in their home until they no longer need it. The person then stays living independently and the support ‘floats off’ to support someone else.
Referrals can be made directly from the local authority, social services, Probation Service and voluntary agencies. We also take self referrals.
TVH’s Floating
Support services aim to provide
choice through the flexibility
and diversity of delivery. We
involve service users in the
design, implementation, monitoring
and evaluation of our services.
We ensure all staff members have
the appropriate qualifications,
experience, skills, training
and support to maintain a high
quality service.
