Tees Valley Housing is responsible for building insurance to all its rented stock and shared ownership, right to buy and leasehold properties.
Rented Properties
A claim can be anything from storm damage to accidental damage and break-ins. If you need to claim on a rented property, please contact customer services on 08000 461600 and arrange for any repairs to be carried by a contractor. Certain incidents involving criminal activities must be reported to the police to obtain a crime number.
Shared Ownership - Buildings Insurance Claims Procedure
This Insurance Procedure has been compiled to provide assistance for leaseholders when submitting a claim under your buildings insurance policy.
How to Claim
Claims should be made quickly to ensure they are settled as soon as possible and must be made within 30 days of the incident.

letter will be sent to you within
three working days. When you receive
the form you will need to provide
the following information:
- Your name and address
- Date of the incident
- The cause of the incident
- When the damage was discovered
- Any reason to suspect that the damage was caused by a particular person. If criminal activities are involved you must report this to the police and get a crime number
- Any other relevant information

If you have any queries, please contact Zurich Municipal directly but please make sure you give them the full policy number.
There is no need to supply two estimates as mentioned on the claim form as Zurich Municipal will appoint ROK, a national building firm, to assess the damage and carry out the necessary work. When you contact Zurich Municipal, simply tell them that you do not have any estimates as ROK will be appointed.
Once Zurich Municipal has your completed claim form, you will be contacted within ten working days.
