Tenant Participation

At Tees Valley Housing, we believe that customer input is vital in any decision making process, including future investment work. That's one of the reasons why we have formed an asset management focus group. The group will discuss topics such as investement work, new build iniatives, repairs and maintenance.

What is an asset management focus group?

The focus group will be involved with all aspects of asset management from new build design, tenant’s choice, discussing priorities of work, visiting manufacturers, discussing performance of contractors and revising tenant information.

What have we been talking about?

Tenant Information for the Investment Plan - The 'Your home's modernisation explained' DVD is now complete. This will be distributed to tenants, when required, to inform residents of what to expect during improvement work to their homes.

Chair Election - Tenant members elected Fred Dowson as Chair for the group.

Stock Condition Survey and Investment Plan - These surveys have now been completed and along with information from our housing management department, a league table will be drawn up which will show what work will be carried out and when. This information will be communicated to residents through the website and newsletter in the near future.

Tenants Repairs Handbook - A guide for reporting repairs has now been completed. The booklet will include comprehensive information on how to report a repair, priorities, appointments, a check list on Tees Valley Housing's and the tenant's responsibilities and other useful information. This will be distributed to tenant very shortly.

New Build - Weave - Tees Valley Housing is in the process of redesigning the Development process. Panel members were asked their views based on "what matters to the customer". The suggestions will help with analysis of the system to ensure waste and duplication are removed and identify the value steps.

Symphony Kitchen Visit - A joint visit with the Erimus Asset Management Group is to be arranged. Tenants will be able to visit the factory floor and see the manufacture of kitchens.
